TM 300 SERIES HYDRAULIC CAPSTAN WINCH SYSTEM
The Tension Master™ TM 300 Series Pulling System is designed for placement of fiber or coaxial cables installations that require precise control of cable pulling tensions and hauling speeds, while maintaining a safe bend radius of the cable. The winch is equipped with an adjustable hydraulic bypass relief to ensure that the maximum pull tension on the cable is not exceeded. Although the winch is typically set to 600 pounds using a 40” capstan, it can be adjusted up to a maximum of 2,000 pounds, (8.9 kN) such as when using a 9" capstan to pull copper cables or duct products. An optional calibration piston is available for field calibration purposes where various capstan diameters are used. The winch is designed to be portable and will easily adapt to a wide range of hydraulic power sources. It can be used as an end puller or mid-assist unit for underground or aerial applications. Systems can be free-standing units when used with the optional TM 307 Puller Stand, or easily mounted on most utility vehicles using the utility mounting collar provided with each unit. The hydraulic footvalve control allows “hands free” operation of the hydraulic controls and provides the operator the mobility to position the equipment over a wide range of set up situations, while hand-capstaning the pull line or cable.
An optional TM 175 Tension Controller is available to provide a verifiable record of the pull tensions and features an electronic “trip” control to immediately shut down the winch at a pre-determined value. Placing crews quickly learn to judge the relative difficulty of conduit runs and elevation changes by being able to monitor, record, and control the cable placement. A conversion kit is available to modify the footvalve control to accept a TM175 Tension Controller/Recorder. An optional calibration piston can verify or permit field adjustments of the winch maximum pull tension.
